At its regular meeting on November 18, 2024, the Doddridge County Board of Education members recognized Jennifer Johnson, Doddridge County Middle School’s art teacher, for being named the West Virginia Art Education Association’s 2024 Middle Art Educator of the Year. Miss Johnson was commended for her dedication to her students, and exceptional ability to inspire through art. The award, presented on November 8 at WVU’s Museum of Art, highlights her impact and the importance of art in education.
Kingston Roberts, a handsome aspiring wrestler, led the Pledge of Allegiance at the Doddridge County Board of Education regular meeting on November 18, 2024. Thank you, Kingston, for starting the meeting off strong!

Doddridge County Schools invites everyone to stop by and see our new Trucking Simulator before the football game this evening! Thanks to the incredible generosity of Hall Drilling, our high school students now have access to a state-of-the-art simulator that provides hands-on truck driving experience. This cutting-edge tool not only offers students a safe environment to learn and practice, but also helps them prepare for their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) when they turn 18.
We’re sincerely grateful for Hall Drilling’s investment in our students’ futures, and we’re excited to see how their support will make a lasting impact on our community. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this new resource in action and learn more about this amazing program!

4th grade student Sophia Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance at the Doddridge County Board of Education’s November 4th meeting.

Doddridge County Middle School Football
The Doddridge County Middle School football team will be playing for the LKC Championship versus Tyler County at Tyler County on October 31st at 6:00 PM.
Superintendents Challenge Coins Presented!
Doddridge County Board of Education Regular Meeting
At tonight's Doddridge County Board of Education meeting Paislee Sponaugle, a fifth grader at Doddridge County Middle School, led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Board also donated an unserviceable bus to the Smithburg Fire Department for training purposes. "Student bus safety is an important part of our school system, and we are very pleased to work with the Smithburg Fire Department so that they, along with our other county agencies, have the necessary training resources available” said Superintendent Scott Cochran.
High School Volleyball Sectional Tournament
Doddridge County High School’s volleyball team will open sectional tournament play on Monday, October 28th at Doddridge County High School at 7:00 PM. Ticket prices are $7.00 per person. Since this is a sectional tournament game Doddridge County extracurricular passes will not be accepted. Come out and support our team!

Today, through a partnership with our Holistic Child Department/Communities in Schools, Child Nutrition program, Route 18 Farmer's Market and the Doddridge County Farmer's Market, DCELA and DCES students were able to participate in an attendance incentive of an onsite "Famer's Market". Attendance Matters and being at school on this beautiful day allowed our students to participate in this event. Students were given tokens and bags to shop for a variety of produce including cabbage, peppers, pumpkins, potatoes, carrots, apples, and many more other fruits and vegetables. Students were excited to shop for their own produces and could not wait to get their items home to help with a family meal!

In Doddridge County Schools, we have been INCREDIBLY BLESSED to partner with some of the BEST BUSINESSES in West Virginia...and Hall Drilling is a PRIME EXAMPLE of this!!! In the last year or so, we have been working with companies that are interested in investing in a Trucking Simulator for our high school students. We were SO EXCITED when Hall Drilling (Mike and MT Hall) agreed to purchase a state-of-the-art Trucking Simulator for the students of DCHS. This simulator will not only provide students the opportunity to practice driving a truck in a safe and engaging workspace, but also practice and prepare to get their CDL's when they turn 18 years old. The impact of this purchase is INVALUABLE and will make a positive difference in this community for years to come!!!
