At its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the Doddridge County Board of Education proudly recognized the exceptional contributions of several key teams and individuals whose dedication has made an impact on the district and community. The Department of Transportation - District 4, led by Engineer/Manager William Gaskins, and the Doddridge County Department of Highways, under the leadership of Administrator Robert Cornell, were honored for their teams’ tireless efforts in maintaining safe and accessible roadways during the recent extreme winter conditions. Their work has been instrumental in ensuring the safety and well-being of Doddridge County students, staff, and residents, embodying the district’s mission: United to Make a Difference. The Board also commended the Maintenance and Grounds Department and Head Custodians across the district for their outstanding work. These teams were celebrated not only for their extraordinary response during severe weather but also for their consistent dedication to keeping school campuses safe, clean, and ready to welcome students every day. Board President Chad Evans shared his gratitude, saying, “These teams exemplify the true meaning of dedication and service. Their efforts during extreme winter conditions, combined with their daily commitment to excellence, are essential to the success of our schools. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank them for all they do.” Superintendent Cochran echoed this sentiment, adding, “Our students and staff thrive because of the unwavering support from these incredible teams. Their hard work, collaboration, and consistent care create the foundation for a safe and welcoming learning environment.” The Doddridge County Board of Education extends its deepest thanks to these groups for their vital role in fostering success within the district and throughout the community.

Attendance Matters; Bulldogs In The Building Did you know? Students who miss 2 days per month are considered chronically absent. Students who are chronically absent have higher risks of falling behind academically. We value your student being present at school and having the best chance possible of learning and growing academically. To date in our County; 45% of all students have missed less than 4 days of school since the first day of school. That is missing 5% or fewer school days since August 14, 2024.
